Slade Earns NWA World Junior Heavyweight Title Shot
Alex Taylor has a new No. 1 contender.
On the latest NWA Powerrr, Slade earned a future opportunity at the National Wrestling Alliance World Junior Heavyweight Championship. He pinned Hunter, defeating the NWA Kross Fire Wrestling standout as well as Alex Misery and Lev in a fast-paced, hard-hitting four-way to determine Taylor’s next challenge.
“Listen, Vato, Slade is unstoppable right now!” says his manager Rolando.
“Alex Taylor needs to shine that belt up real nice,” the tiny terror says. “Slade is going to prove why everyone in the NWA should ‘Fear the Gear’ and bring home the NWA World Junior Heavyweight title!”
“Rolando talks too damn much,” the unfazed member of the Southern Six states, laughing off the manager’s threats. “Slade won a big match — but have you seen what I’ve done over the past year?!”
Taylor makes a valid point. The champ’s track record over the last 12 months speaks for itself.
He won the NWA World Junior Heavyweight title last June. It was another step in an incredible climb for Taylor, who with his Southern Six cohorts Kerry Morton won the 2024 Crockett Cup just months earlier.
“Slade is a helluva competitor — but he’s no Alex Taylor, Daddy,” the champion says.
“Slade might even be the best amateur wrestler in the business,” Taylor concedes, then holds his championship aloft. “But in the National Wrestling Alliance, this title says I’m the best professional wrestler under 225 pounds in the world!”
