NWA Inks Multiple Champions, Top Talents to Exclusive Contracts

The National Wrestling Alliance Talent Signings Rapidly Laying the Foundation for Future Growth, Long-Term Success.

Over the last week of June, the National Wrestling Alliance locked in three current champions and numerous top names for the foreseeable future.

Inking new contracts with the NWA are reigning unified World Television and Women’s Television Champion Max the Impaler, Women’s World tag champs The King Bees, Colby Corino, Natalia Markova, Bryan Idol, Spencer Slade and Rolando. The agreements make these stars exclusive to NWA Powerrr, the flagship program of NWA streaming Tuesdays on The CW, and guarantee their ongoing home in pro wrestling’s most legendary promotion.

“It’s an exciting time for the NWA, its talent and fans,” says Chief Operating Officer Joe Galli.

“The future of the National Wrestling Alliance is bright, and our growth over the last year has been incredible,” Galli states. “Signing these stars to long-term contracts only adds to our excitement. The NWA firmly believes each reinforces its rich history, legacy and tradition.”

Markova became the first talent to announce a multi-year contract with NWA. A perennial top contender to the NWA World Women’s title, Markova has headlined numerous NWA Signature Live Events and is a social media favorite.

Idol, a focal point of The CW reality series Billy Corgan’s Adventures in Carnyland, quickly followed suit. An in-ring talent and the newly-anointed NWA National Promoter, Idol is credited with a recent surge in attendance at both NWA regional and Signature Live Events.

A recent co-promotional event between NWA and Idol’s own Fight the World Wrestling drew headlines for the inclusion of TNA Digital Media champion AJ Francis. Likewise, his success as World Wrestling Council Television champion helped bring the NWA and Puerto Rico’s most iconic wrestling brand together for a joint show earlier this year.

Corino is a second-generation superstar. The son of former NWA World’s Heavyweight champion Steve Corino, Colby has played a significant role in NWA programming for many years. After departing the company for a short period, he returned in 2023 and went on to capture the NWA World Junior Heavyweight title.

On June 29, NWA announced its exclusive agreement with unified NWA World Television and Women’s Television Champion Max the Impaler. One of the most unique and enigmatic characters in pro wrestling today,“The Non-Binary Nightmare” has proven a sensation in Japan and beyond.

The NWA secured reigning Women’s World tag champions The King Bees on June 30. The Texas-based Charity King and Danni Bee arrived in late 2023, capturing NWA gold soon after.

Slade is the newest talent on the NWA roster to sign an agreement with the company. Introduced to audiences earlier this year alongside The Spectaculars, the Northeastern U.S. wrestling staple is an amateur grappling standout with immense potential. His partner in The Spectaculars and frequent manager Rolando also renewed his NWA contract.

These eight stars are only the start of what is anticipated to be a flurry of signings by NWA, as the company moves toward NWA 76. This anniversary celebration of the NWA’s founding in 1948 comes to Philadelphia’s iconic 2300 Arena on August 31.

All NWA titles are expected to be defended at the company’s biggest Signature Live Event of the year. Tickets are on sale now.
