Sports Illustrated, Busted Open Spotlight Tiffany Nieves Ahead of 'Looks That Kill'
“La Princesa” is ready to make National Wrestling Alliance history.
This Saturday in Dothan, Tiffany Nieves steps into the ring with Natalia Markova for Alabama’s first-ever women’s steel cage match. It’s a monumental moment in pro wrestling history — and Nieves is ready to make the most of it.
“The world is finally waking up to the fact ‘La Princesa’ is the best at everything,” a confident Nieves tells NationalWrestlingAlliance.com.
It certainly appears the world is taking notice of Nieves.
Ahead of Looks That Kill Dec. 14 in Dothan, “La Princesa” has spoken with numerous top-tier media outlets about her life, career and the landmark clash with Markova. On Dec. 11, Nieves appeared on Sirius XM’s No. 1 ranked pro wrestling radio show Busted Open. The same day, Sports Illustrated profiled the National Wrestling Alliance star.
“I was not sent here to fit in,” Nieves stated to Sports Illustrated. “I was not sent here to follow.”
In an exclusive interview with the publication’s popular spotlight on pro wrestling “The Takedown,” Nieves opened up about her childhood. She shared openly about her family’s financial insecurities and personal battle with Stage 2 B-Cell Non-Hodkins Lymphoma.
Notable names in pro wrestling heaped praise on Nieves in the article. Former National Wrestling Alliance Women’s World Champion Thunder Rosa had glowing things to say about Nieves, as did William Patrick Corgan.
“Tiffany has an unflappable faith in herself,” Corgan told SI.
Nieves is now eleven years cancer free. The NWA President suggests Nieves’ remarkable recovery journey might well have helped shape the “star in the making.”
“A talent has to have that X factor or charisma that makes an audience pay extra attention,” Corgan states. “In that, she has worked very hard to improve every facet of her game because she also has the ambition of a star.”
Nieves and Markova are one of two huge cage matches coming to Looks That Kill Dec. 14 at the Dothan Civic Center. Tickets for the NWA Signature Live Event, being filmed for future broadcast on NWA Powerrr, are on sale now.
