FORNEY, TEXAS - March 22, 2024 - The National Wrestling Alliance (NWA) proudly announces the return of the prestigious Crockett Cup tag team tournament, set to take place on May 18, 2024, at The OC Theater in Forney, Texas, which is part of the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex. This monumental event brings together the best tag teams in wrestling under one roof.

Significance of The Crockett Cup:

Since the mid-1980s, the Crockett Cup has showcased the pinnacle of tag team wrestling, capturing the imagination of fans worldwide. David Crockett, a key figure in wrestling history, continues his support for the NWA, contributing to the event's success. This year's tournament will feature top tag teams vying for the prestigious cup and the title of Crockett Cup champions.

Why Texas?

The recent success of the critically acclaimed The Iron Claw film, which featured NWA talent ‘Thrillbilly’ Silas Mason as Terry ‘Bam Bam’ Gordy, has brought the rich wrestling history of the Lone Star State and the NWA back to the public eye. Dallas in particular has long been a hotbed for wrestling talent, producing iconic stars such as the Funk family and the Von Erichs, who have left an indelible mark on the sport. In turn, NWA President William Patrick Corgan saw the 2024 Crockett Cup in Dallas, Texas as the perfect stage and only choice to host the legacy of the NWA and the prestige of the annual Crockett Cup tag team tradition.
