'NWA 76' Update: Max The Impaler Makes Philly Their ‘Wasteland' Aug. 31
Destruction is guaranteed at NWA 76! The National Wrestling Alliance confirms unified World Television and Women’s TV champion Max the Impaler for Aug. 31 in Philadelphia.
“The question everyone seems to be asking is ‘Who can stop ‘The Warlord of the Wasteland’?’” shares Joe Galli. “Perhaps we will have an answer at NWA 76, when it is expected every title in the National Wrestling Alliance is defended.”
In January, the global superstar made history, becoming the first individual to simultaneously hold both the legendary NWA World’s Television and Women’s World TV titles. Since that time, Max the Impaler has proven virtually unstoppable, steamrolling opponents of every gender.
“Max’s time as unified NWA TV champion has been nothing short of incredible!” concedes Joe Galli, noting their dominance recently earned Max an exclusive contract with NWA.
“At NWA 76, though, one or both title reigns could end,” says Galli, who serves as both NWA’s Senior Broadcaster and Chief Operating Officer. “The only double champion in modern NWA history, we might see ‘The Non-Binary Nightmare’ forced to defend both titles in a single evening!”
Speculation aside, Max the Impaler will see action Aug. 31 at Philly’s famed 2300 Arena. Their opponent, and whether the rest of “Father” James Mitchell’s Miserably Faithful will be on-hand, have not yet been announced.
To date, only 2024 Crockett Cup Winners Alex Taylor and Kerry Morton versus 2023 winners Knox & Murdoch in a grudge match is confirmed for NWA 76. Having faced twice before, with one victory each, this rubber match will undoubtedly have NWA World Tag Title implications.
However, the unified World TV champion is another huge addition to an ever-growing lineup of the NWA’s top stars headed to NWA 76. Already announced are NWA World Tag Team champions Blunt Force Trauma with manager Aron Stevens, Women’s World Champion Kenzie Paige, Women’s World Tag Team champs The King Bees, 2024 Crockett Cup winners Alex Taylor and Kerry Morton, their Southern Six cohorts “Thrillbilly” Silas Mason and Ricky Morton and more.
Surprise announcements for NWA’s biggest Signature Live Event of the year include Kayla Rossi and “HollyHood” Haley J, star of acclaimed Netflix series The Wrestlers. Both are presumed entrants in the 2024 Burke Invitational Gauntlet (won in 2022 by Max the Impaler).
NWA 76 will be filmed to later air on NWA Powerrr, the company’s flagship Tuesday night broadcast. Tickets are on sale now.
