Knox & Murdoch Hit 200 Days as NWA World Tag Team Champions
Knox & Murdoch have hit a milestone!
On Dec. 19, the colossal pairing celebrate 200 days as National Wrestling Alliance World Tag Champions. Not too shabby for a team forged from a bitter 2021 rivalry over the NWA World’s championship!
In late 2022, the massive Knox & Murdoch found mutual respect, opting to beat opponents senseless rather than each other. The following year, the duo made their first lasting mark on the National Wrestling Alliance, capturing the prestigious Crockett Cup Trophy.
“I can’t believe it!” an emotional Knox declared at the time.
“After everything I’ve been through in my career, being promised things which never materialized, this is the first time my name is etched in the history books in a really meaningful way,” Knox shared. “This can never be taken away!”
It was far from the end of the story.
Over the next year, Knox & Murdoch pursued the NWA World Tag Team titles. Multiple initial efforts were thwarted by wily manager Aron Steven, who used every tactic imaginable to keep the belts on steeds Blunt Force Trauma. Eventually Knox & Murdoch realized their dream, defeating the masked menaces for the gold June 2, 2024, at NWA’s Back to the Territories live event in Knoxville, TN.
“It’s difficult enough to beat two studs like Blunt Force Trauma,” Trevor Murdoch told NationalWrestlingAlliance.com.
“They’re big, powerful guys, and then you have to deal with Aron Stevens at ringside,” he continued. “We not only had to beat them physically, we had to outsmart them — and I’m real proud of that!”
Over the last 200 days atop NWA’s stacked tag division, Knox & Murdoch have turned away more than just the former champions. In addition to BFT, the duo have fended off 2024 Crockett Cup winners Alex Taylor and Kerry Morton of The Southern Six, former United States tag champs The Fixers and more.
As challengers continue to line up, Knox & Murdoch are scheduled to defend Jan. 11, 2025 at NWA SHOCKWAVE. Coming to The OC Theatre in Forney, TX, the Signature Live Event is expected to see all the NWA’s top stars in action.
“Right now it doesn’t matter who we face at NWA SHOCKWAVE,” declares Murdoch, calling the NWA World tag titles a “reinvigoration” for his career.
“Anyone who thinks they deserve a shot at these belts — and thinks they have what it takes to be NWA World Tag Team champions — step the [expletive] up!” he challenges, then promises: “But know that when you step into the ring with Knox & Murdoch,, you won’t walk out the same!”
