BREAKING RECORDS

The 2022 Crockett Cup marks the NWA’s return to the Nashville Fairgrounds for the first time since the NWA’s 70th anniversary event in October 2018. On that night, Nick Aldis defeated Cody Rhodes to regain the NWA World's Heavyweight Championship in the highest-grossing event in the history of the venue. This time, the NWA looks to break that record yet again. This epic two-night throw down will also feature singles championship matches, to be announced soon!

JUST GETTING STARTED

Stay tuned for the full bracket of matches to be announced. But the accolades of the names in the initial announcement are setting the level of competition NWA fans have come to expect:

  • The brother tag team of the Briscoe Brothers, Jay and Mark Briscoe (12x ROH Tag Team Champions, former IWGP Tag Team Champions, GCW Tag Team Champions, former GHC Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Champions)

  • The reunited team of The British Invasion, former 2x NWA World's Heavyweight Champion "The National Treasure" Nick Aldis and international sensation Doug Williams (Former IWGP Tag Team Champions, Former TNA World Tag Team Champions)

  • Mexico's own La Rebelión, the team of Mecha Wolf and Bestia 666 (Current NWA World Tag Team Champions, 2x Crash Tag Team Champions)

  • Strictly Business, Thom Latimer and NWA National Heavyweight Champion "The Masterpiece" Chris Adonis

BE PART OF HISTORY

A single concept has grown beyond the generation that created it. Thirty-six years ago, Jim Crockett Promotions partnered with Mid-South Wrestling to present the first-ever Jim Crockett Sr. Memorial Cup in New Orleans, Louisiana.

Upon taking control of the National Wrestling Alliance, NWA President William Patrick Corgan made a commitment to honoring the legacy of the famed organization. The 2022 Crockett Cup will do just that, featuring pro wrestling superstars Nick Aldis & Doug Williams of the reunited British Invasion; Mexico’s own La Rebelión, the Briscoe Brothers, Thom Latimer & Chris Adonis of Strictly Business, and a stacked card to be announced soon.

“Jim Crockett Promotions built a foundation in the Mid-Atlantic region with their tag team wrestling in the 70s and 80s. The Crockett Cup in 1986 brought together the best tag teams in the world under one roof,” said Corgan. "It’s our honor to bring the tradition of NWA wrestling back to Tennessee while supporting the Crockett Foundation with their philanthropy for veterans.”

ABOUT THE NATIONAL WRESTLING ALLIANCE

Founded in 1948, the National Wrestling Alliance is one of the oldest and most prestigious professional wrestling brands in the world. In 2017, international recording artist William Patrick Corgan (Smashing Pumpkins) purchased the NWA with the intention of reinventing the brand for the modern era whilst honoring the legacy of its heyday in the 1980s. Beginning with the critically-acclaimed Ten Pounds Of Gold docu-series, the NWA has since expanded its programming to include two weekly broadcasts (NWA Powerrr & NWA USA) and 6 annual pay-per-views, all of which are available via NWA All Access, our paid subscription service on Triller's FITE streaming platform.
