Since his debut, claiming to be “The Savior of the National Wrestling Alliance,” Matt Cardona has been a thorn in the collective side of the entire company.

Cardona defeated Trevor Murdoch to become NWA World’s Heavyweight Champion. His reign was short-lived though. Injury forced him to vacate the championship at Alwayz Ready, the very pay-per-view named in his honor.

Adding insult to injury, Cardona fell victim to back-to-back pinfall losses to Rolando Freeman. Humiliated, he briefly disappeared from NWA.

Though granted a series of unsuccessful opportunities to regain the World’s title, Cardona continues to have friction with NWA President William Patrick Corgan.
