A Chance to Be Tag Team Legends! Two Nights, 26 Teams, One Winner
The National Wrestling Alliance Crockett Cup 2023 is upon us!
In the grand tradition of the tournaments past, top seeded teams receive an automatic bye into Round 2. Lower-ranked pairing fight to advance. It’s survival of the fittest! Kicking off Sat., June 3, the winners of each bracket meet in the Finals Sunday, June 4, in Winston-Salem, NC. It’s not to be missed as over 50 combatant fight for…a chance to become tag team legends!
MEET THE NO. 1 SEEDED TEAM
La Rebelion
Smart money is always on the National Wrestling Alliance World Tag Team Champions! In 2022, during their first run with the straps, La Rebelion was eliminated by Doug Williams and Harry Smith — the Commonwealth Connection. Now in their second reign, Mecha Wolf and Bestia 666 return to the Crockett Cup.
This year the lucha superstars hope to prove their tag team dominance. Can they go all the way? The closest a pair of defending World Tag champions have come to winning the coveted Crockett Cup was 1988, when Four Horsemen members Tully Blanchard and Arn Anderson lost in the finals. Can Mecha and Bestia make history? Find out June 4!
NO. 2 SEED
NWA Worlds Heavyweight Champion Tyrus & Chris Adonis
Talk about an unstoppable force! Maybe NWA World’s Champion Tyrus chose Chris Adonis to keep the No. 1 contender close-at-hand. Maybe “The Great American Smash” simply wants the best partner possible. Either way the shrewd move gave this powerhouse pairing the highly-coveted No. 2 seed.
NO. 3 SEED
Mike Knox & Trevor Murdoch
Since putting differences aside, many have wondered who can stop these once bitter rivals. Mike Knox and two-time former World’s Champion Trevor Murdoch are on a rampage, and it’s uncertain whether anyone can keep them from the Cup!
NO. 4 SEED
Myzteziz Jr. & Octagon Jr.
Adding global flair are the No. 4 seeded Myzteziz, Jr. & Octagon, Jr! Representing Mexico’s AAA, these luchadors will undoubtedly wow audiences in an effort to take the Cup South of the Border for the first time in tournament history!
NO. 5 SEED
Thom Latimer & Rhet Titus
NWA World’s TV Champion Thom Latimer and Rhett Titus are certainly “A Cut Above.” Their respective in-ring pedigrees earned the duo a surprising No. 5 Seed — but can they make to the Finals together too?
NO. 6 SEED
The Mortons
Will Ricky and Kerry be the first father/son to win it all? Better question: Can the World Junior Heavyweight champ and his Dad get on the same page? This year marks an historic first for Ricky: The bye into Round 2 sees this Rock ’n Roll Express legend move past Round 1 for the first time…ever.
NO. 7 SEED
The Country Gentlemen
Nobody was more shocked to see the U.S. Tag Champs seeded No. 7 than Anthony Andrews and AJ Cazana. Now The Country Gentlemen enter the Cup with a chip on their shoulders — which leaves other teams “Dead to Rights.”
NO. 8 SEED
Blunt Force Trauma
Damage and Carnage — Blunt Force Trauma — have the tools to win this! The ever-cunning Aron Stevens could be a difference maker. Whether that’s “for better or worse,” as May Valentine can attest, is yet to be seen.
DARK HORSE DUOS
Several intriguing teams outside the Top Eight Seeds lead many to speculate an unexpected victory is possible!
MAX THE IMPALER & JUDAIS
Father James Mitchell’s scarily imposing team might take it all!
TNT
These sons of Hall-of-Famer D-Von Dudley have tag team wrestling in their blood!
MAGNUM MUSCLE: MIMS & DAK DRAPER
This “Big, Strong” duo’s near limitless potential continues to impress!
KRATOS & ODINSON
Go ahead; name a more powerful duo than these two….We’ll wait.
THE HEATSEEKERS
Four-time NWA World tag champs Elliot Russell & Sigmon return in the Lightning One Era.
YABO & RUFFO
This duo could give plenty of teams all new reason to fear clowns.
